I am not familiar with the C2 but found some photos on-line. There looks to be a servo under the brake fluid reservoir and with diesels there is usually a vacuum pump on the gear box end of the cylinder head. If you did not have spongy brakes before doing the springs it is unlikely the servo or vacuum pump are a problem.
